You said Kurt Cobain's not a genius, then basically proved that point. The simplicity is what made him pretty genius musically, someone had to move away from the super technical glam stuff of the 80s. Otherwise the 90s would be in a similar situation to what today's music is in, the same old crappy format with no band innovating and creating something new. Kurt came in, mixed pop themes with punk and created such an iconic sound that made grunge so groundbreaking.

If a cacophonic, lazy, pretentious album like this had been done by anyone without their big names, no producer would have touched it with a ten feet pole. Sure, you can find a few interesting snippets here and there in it, but does it compare with the actual good music that these artists have made in their heyday? No. This is an embarrassment in Lou Reed's *and* in Metallica's catalogue. Period.

I dont hate or love nirvana. However of the songs that i like(smells like teen spirit, in bloom, and come as you are) but the lyrics are just horrible. I heard he had said he didnt care about lyrics and would write them very shortly before a performance. They reallly are overrated more so than the Beatles.
